Caleb wants to fly, and by fly he means get drunk. His father passed away recently, and Caleb has been drunk driving tonight. His girlfriend, Abigail has just found him. What follows is Abigail's attempt to keep Caleb from flying again. When it's all over we're left wondering if Caleb is flying over Houston's Beltway 8.

 

PRODUCTION HISTORY

Beltway 8 premiered in a fifteen minute format on December 8th, 2025 at Bloomsburg University. It was directed by Drew Rehrig as a part of the BU Players' Directing Class Projects.

Beltway 8 was produced again on February 7th, 2026 at the Chain Theatre for their One Act Festival. The production was directed by Mary Morgan Collier, sound design by Abigail Wickman, and lighting design by Mary Morgan Collier. The cast was as follows:
